As our world sees the beauty of those who have Down syndrome outside the womb, I pray that our society understands the worth of someone with Down syndrome inside the womb. Where am I going with this? This came about as I recently saw that the model for the Baby Banana Republic clothing line has Down syndrome. This is a new clothing line! I love not only that children outside the womb are honored but I pray this translates to honoring and changing our laws/mindset toward those who have diagnoses inside the womb to recognize they are the people who are to be cherished for their worth as people are not less than because of their disability/diagnoses despite their location in the womb and those who believe the lies of the world who label people in utero considering them better off aborted is tragic. According to the United States Joint Economic Commitee shares, ” It is estimated that 60 percent to 90 percent of children diagnosed with Down syndrome are aborted in the U.S., compared to 18 percent of all pregnancies ending in abortion.” (https://www.jec.senate.gov/public/index.cfm/republicans/analysis?ID=9DAEB2A3-0C2A-45DC-930A-0B954CA8E9AA)
Our world and laws must change to reflect the knowledge our society naturally understand of those outside the womb to see that naturally recognized for how we view people inside the womb. https://www.fox29.com/news/banana-republic-features-baby-with-down-syndrome-in-new-collection
